Reviews

"...this theatrical adaptation by Catherine Bush from the famous Alexandre Dumas novel is amazingly fluid... Fleet, kinetic, seamless and jaunty, you are never lost, quite the contrary- you are happily caught up in the spectacle and sweeping story. "
Craig Thornton, WWNYTV.com
"By the end, you may find yourself longing for Classical Theater of Harlem to tackle Dumas’s two sequels next."
Elisabeth Vincentelli, New York Times
"Catherine Bush’s new adaptation favors a light touch... No five pages of the novel can deliver as many laughs as Bush’s script can in five minutes."
James MacKillop, Syracuse New Times
"...this new version of "Musketeers" infuses the classic tale with a fresh commercial sensibility...Catherine Bush's script improves the flow and adjusts common conventions of the times ... to sync with more modern sensibilities. The result: she creates a spirited yet tender brotherhood that enhances the "all for one, one for all" theme that's made this tale beloved for generations."
Linda Lowen, syracuse.com
"...a rip-roaring good time... Adapter Catherine Bush has streamlined and tweaked the plot of the 1884 novel by Alexandre Dumas. For one, she has made hero D’Artagnan more appealing to modern audiences by cutting out his amorous excursion into adultery. Her storytelling is crystal clear, though, as she gallops through the story’s swirl of intrigues. She and director Jim Helsinger have nearly perfectly blended the action, humor and romance..."
Matthew J. Palm, Orlando Sentinel
"Orlando Shakes wisely chose to pick a brand-new adaptation by Catherine Bush that combines the good storytelling of Dumas' timeless work with the modern sensibilities an audience can enjoy today."
Albert Gutierrez, Broadway World
