Happy New Year to All!

So excited to see what this year brings. Right now I’m in the throes of child-birthing a new play called GRANDMA GATEWOOD TOOK A WALK based on the life of Emma Gatewood, the first woman to thru-hike the Appalachian Trail alone (she was 67 years old!). That has to finish up soon so I can get to work on two other plays Barter and The Barter Players have commissioned from me for Christmas (I’LL BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS and I WANT A HIPPOPOTAMUS FOR CHRISTMAS). Composer Dax Dupuy and I have also started work on a new musical called BOOK WOMAN, inspired by the Appalachian Pack Horse Library that existed in Kentucky during the Depression. So, lots to do.
